Gratuities are not subject to NY sales tax, are considered part of the service offered and will be added + itemized separately on your receipt therefore no tax is charged .

​​As a sole proprietorship small business, I handle numerous operating costs, including stocking inventory, warehousing, nyc rent, accounting, software, social media advertising, ​biz & health insurance, licensing, beauty, continuing education office and cleaning supplies, beverages, business phone, website, electricity, towel cleaning, holiday gratuities for the building staff, self-employment taxes( FICA), Retirement fund, New York State city local, federal income tax, self paid time off for sick days or personal time and many other essential expenses all of which is not covered by a big corporate entity.
